So you may have noticed there was a number gag in the Top Ten list itself, which eliminated #6 altogether. Well, we still filmed a #6, and have conveniently included it right here! Featuring a repeat appearance by Janet’s real-life twins Susannah and Jacob, who you may remember as the kids a mom duct-taped up for some “quiet time” in our March video.

Folks, we are SUPER EXCITED to announce that – for the first time ever – you can catch the premiere of this month’s Troupe Dynamic Top Ten List for Thrive RIGHT HERE!

As you know, typically our top ten videos make their online premiere on thrivedecatur.com, but this month we decided to open up the playing field and make it available elsewhere. So here it is!

This month we look at “The Top Ten Ways to Spice Up Your Relationship,” and introduce a slightly new format in the process. The Top Ten itself is presented by Dr. Janet and Dr. Timmy of Dynamic Labs, and the story elements are self-contained this time; there’s no talking directly to the camera!

Yes, our January Top Ten video is posted on thrivedecatur.com! “The Top Ten Trends We Expect to See in 2010.” In this edition: Jay gets an email, Doug has straw trouble, Timmy loses a shoe, Janet gets physical, and Hugh has a crush.

But wait! There’s more to the story! In previous installments, Doug has played a character we refer to simply as “The Clown.” In this edition, we all get in on the act and present an entire group of Clown characters! What we have here – exclusive to this site – is the continuation of the Clown bit featured in the top ten. While technically the video below can be viewed as a standalone bit, we urge you watch the top ten video first if you have yet to do so.

There are fun days on the set, and then there are days when you look around you and think, “Cripes. We get paid to do this?”

Well, no. We don’t get paid to do this. In fact, we actually pay to do this. But you know what? We all got to dress up as clowns, and gosh darn it, we laughed our arses off.

We thought we had retired “The Clown” character after our last Top Ten vid, but we had to bring him back for one last encore thanks to a too-perfect-not-to-do-it opportunity in our January edition. Only this time, we all got into the act!

Now here’s the cool part; not only will there be our clownly appearance in the actual Top Ten vid posted to thrivedecatur.com (it’s exclusive home for the month of January), but we’ll have an exclusive “continuation” of the scene right here on our site!

We’re actually really excited for this next video. We’re confident that this edition’s storyline is our strongest to date, PLUS it’ll be the first edition with Doug joining us full time again! Needless to say, we can’t wait for you to see it!

Belated Halloween pic? Questionable career move? Wednesday?

Jay and Timmy recently spent an afternoon clowning around in various getups filming a commercial spot. While we can’t tell you who the spot is for (we will once a premiere date has been confirmed), we can tell you what our boys were up to and show you the full pic from above. Right after the jump…

Playing a couple of inept ad men hired to re-imagine the client’s jingle (and performing what they came up with), Jay and Tim wore basic shirts and ties for their wardrobe, but added pieces of additional costumes depending on the genre of song they adopted. Likewise, they also adopted the attitudes and personas of each genre.

Six different genres were filmed: Country, Hip-Hop, “Boy Band,” Classical, Blues, and Rock. Yes, hilarity ensued.

The spot was conceived, written, co-produced, and directed by Jay in cooperation with (frequent Troupe collaborator) Jim Cloney and Falcon Mutlimedia. Good Times!

Hugh and Doug are featured in the spot, and Jay co-produced along with frequent Troupe collaborator Jim Cloney. Jay also wrote the script (based on an original concept by Jim), directed, co-edited with Jim, and mixed the sound (best to listen with headphones for the ‘fight’ scene!).
